CDC Approves 15 Investment Projects Valued at Over $247 Million, Anticipates Creation of 16,000 Jobs

Phnom Penh: In the opening two weeks of December, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) granted approvals for 15 investment projects, amounting to a cumulative investment exceeding $247 million. These projects are poised to generate more than 16,000 employment opportunities, according to a press release issued by the CDC.

The approved investments encompass a diverse range of sectors, with 14 projects concentrated in the industrial domain, while one pertains to infrastructure and other sectors.

Among the ventures greenlit are the establishment of a garment factory, a shoe manufacturing facility, a home appliance production unit, a bathroom and curtain manufacturing plant, a lamp manufacturing facility, a lighting fixture production enterprise, electronics and toy manufacturing for garden decoration, and an ambitious project for the development of a 150-megawatt solar power plant equipped with a power storage system. This solar power project is slated for implementation in Pursat province, specifically in Krakor district.

The majority of these 15 investment initiatives are strategically located in key provinces such as Kampong Speu, Kandal, Takeo, Svay Rieng, Kampong Cham, and Sihanoukville.
